B&T HOMEOPATHIC NIGHTTIME COUGH & BRONCHIAL SYRUP: Active ingredients include Aconitum nap. 3X, Bryonia 3X, Hepar sulph. calc. 6C, Spongia tosta 3X, Stannum met. 6C, Alfalfa 1X, Avena 1X, Coffea Cruda 6X, Alcohol 8.73% v/v, sodium benzoate 0.1%. When I first started buying this stuff, I discovered that it contained sugar [yikes!] but sugar has since been dropped from the label. Some people may object to the presence of alcohol, but because this syrup works so well, quieting my babies and helping them to sleep through the night, infrequent doses of alcohol seems insignificant. This stuff is a little nasty tasting, but not so bad that my children won’t take it with a syringe. Also, there are two formulas, one for daytime, one for nighttime (the active ingredients listed here are for the nighttime formula).

CHILDREN’S ALL-NATURAL HOMEOPATHIC ALPHA CF for colds and flu: Small tablets which dissolve in mouth are suitable for even very young children. Used it for the first time this year, and it seemed to help a great deal. Not too expensive either.

ECHINACEA WITH GOLDENSEAL: My husband and I take capsules (Nature’s Way) and my children take liquid (Herbs for Kids or Ecclectic Institute), which I mix in their juice. We take this three times a day at the earliest onset of cold symptoms, and it often wards off the cold or prevents it from fully developing. Great stuff!
