FASTING

Do I have to?

REASONS FOR & BENEFITS OF FASTING & PRAYING

It is a time to minister to God.

Fast to draw close to God in times of danger.

Fast for an ordination.

When an answer to prayer hasn't come, fast and pray.

Fasting sharpens sensitivity to God's voice.

Increase self-control; to subdue the flesh.

Increase mental alertness.

Increase spiritual awareness.

Decrease physical sluggishness and laziness.

A new devotion to God takes place.

True humility becomes evident.

A deeper appreciation for the simple necessities takes over.

A greater awareness of God's love, God's grace, God's presence and guidance occurs.

Fasting fosters closer fellowship with the Holy Spirit

Self is crucified.

Come against unbelief; faith is built, allowing Christ to help us live an overcoming life.

The physical body undergoes a period of rest and cleansing.
